Our clients who keep popping by our offices know that for a long time, we have been planning an upgrade to all our packages, thanks to the tremendous support you, our clients, have given us.

We have been able to acquire more hosting resources and this has enabled us to pass along the benefits and the savings to our clients. So now you can enjoy all the benefits of the new upgrade at no additional cost.

Below is a highlight of the changes:

No Change in Price

That's right. we've increased everything else except the price. Same price, bigger resources, better services. 

Package names

We've renamed all our packages to better reflect what we're offering. The previous names we had (Personal, standard, professional and business ) were a little confusing to our clients who assumed that they were named according to the type of business. So to make the names business and profession neutral, we decided to rename them all. We hope you like the new (and super cool) names.

Resources 

Email
Apart from the nx-Micro package (formerly personal), we've more than doubled the number of POP email accounts and virtual emails / aliases available to you.

Disk Space
All package space have been upgraded by upto 10 times. Yup, that's an upgrade of almost 1,000%. That means you have more space for your email, files and your database.

Bandwidth / Monthly Traffic
Even more than the disk space, the bandwidth upgrades are more impressive, with some packages going up to 15 times their original bandwith. So what does this mean? It means you can now have more visitors coming to your site without worrying about being shut down. 

Funny thing is, we're very accomodative, we actually increase bandwidth for seasonal high volume clients. Case in point was Stanbic Bank during their IPO and The Tumwesigyes who experienced massive surges in visitors for about two weeks. We know it's temporary, so we'll adjust and wait till it goes back to normal. Just another reason to continue hosting with us, or to join the happy family.

Webmail

Over the past year, a lot of our clients have complained about the Horde webmail interface. We've been told it's slow, cluttered, confusing and difficult to use. With the new upgrades, we'll be changing the default webmail client to Squirrelmail. Horde will still be available for those who prefer to use it, but accessing it will be through an alternate address, ie www.yourdomainname.com/webmail instead of www.yourdomain.com/email.

Domain Names

On the down side, due to an increase in pricing from our registrar and an increase in money transfer fees, we've been forced to start billing for domain names from the second year. We were offering domain names free for as long as you host with us, but it proved impractical with the new costs we incur.We still offer domain names free for the first year (as we've always done), but from the second year on, we will begin billing for domain name renewals. Do we oversell our resources? 

No. Absolutely not. We have a simple policy of offering exactly what we can afford to offer, which means when you get 1GB of space, you have 1GB of space available. We do not oversell, period.

Most hosting firms promise huge amounts of resources with their hosting packages in order to get more clients. Most of these firms would collapse if every client were to use all their resources because of the impracticality. An example is a small hosting company offering 500GB of space per client. And yet their server has 250GB of space. And they have over 50 clients. Unbelievable, but in the hosting industry it happens and it's called overselling.
